How VulnCheck uses cookies and similar technologies on our website

Last updated: June 30th, 2026

This Cookie Policy explains how VulnCheck, Inc. and its affiliates ("VulnCheck", "we", "us", "our") use cookies and similar technologies when you visit our website at www.vulncheck.com and related subdomains (the "Site"). It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains how we process personal data more generally.

By continuing to use our Site, or by clicking "Accept" on our cookie banner, you consent to the use of cookies as described in this policy. You can change or withdraw your consent at any time using the cookie management tool available on the Site.

What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files that are placed on your device (computer, tablet, or mobile) when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work, or work more efficiently, and to provide information to the owners of the site. Similar technologies — including pixels, local storage, and tags — perform comparable functions and are covered by this policy.

Cookies set by the website you are visiting are called "first-party cookies". Cookies set by parties other than the website owner are called "third-party cookies". Third-party cookies enable third-party features or functionality to be provided on or through the website (such as analytics).

Cookies can also be classified by how long they remain on your device:

  • Session cookies are temporary and are deleted when you close your browser.
  • Persistent cookies remain on your device for a set period or until you delete them manually.

How we use cookies

We use cookies for the following purposes:

Strictly necessary cookies

These cookies are essential to provide you with services available through our Site and to enable certain features. Without these cookies, services you have asked for (such as submitting a form or maintaining your consent preferences) cannot be provided. Because these cookies are strictly necessary, we do not require your consent to set them.

Analytics and performance cookies

These cookies help us understand how visitors interact with our Site by collecting and reporting information anonymously or pseudonymously. We use this information to improve the way our Site works, measure the effectiveness of our content, and inform our product and marketing decisions. Where required by law, we set these cookies only with your consent.

ajs_anonymous_idSegment (Twilio, Inc.)Assigns an anonymous identifier to your browser so we can attribute page views and events to a single visitor across a session.1 year
ajs_user_idSegment (Twilio, Inc.)Associates events with a known user identifier once you have signed in or identified yourself (for example, by submitting a form).1 year
ajs_group_idSegment (Twilio, Inc.)Associates events with an organisation or group, where applicable.1 year

Segment may forward data to other tools we use for analytics and product improvement. Google Analytics is configured to truncate IP addresses where possible. Both providers may transfer personal data outside the EEA / UK — we rely on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, the UK Extension to it, and / or Standard Contractual Clauses to safeguard those transfers (see our Privacy Policy for details).

What we do not use

We do not currently use cookies for advertising, retargeting, or behavioural advertising. We do not set Meta / Facebook Pixel, LinkedIn Insight Tag, HubSpot tracking, Hotjar, or similar marketing-attribution tags on this Site. If this changes, we will update this policy and prompt you to renew your consent before any new cookies are set.

You can change your cookie preferences at any time by clicking the cookie settings link in the footer of our Site, which reopens our cookie consent tool. From there you can accept or reject each category of cookies.

You can also control cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to:

  • See what cookies are stored on your device and delete them individually;
  • Block third-party cookies;
  • Block cookies from particular sites;
  • Block all cookies from being set;
  • Delete all cookies when you close your browser.

Please be aware that restricting cookies may affect the functionality of our Site. Disabling strictly necessary cookies — for example, the consent-preferences cookie or the Cloudflare security cookies — may prevent parts of the Site from working correctly.

For more information on how to manage cookies in common browsers, see:

You can also opt out of Google Analytics tracking by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

"Do Not Track" signals

Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" ("DNT") setting that sends a signal to websites you visit indicating that you do not wish to be tracked. There is currently no industry standard for how websites should respond to DNT signals, and we do not respond to them at this time. You can use the cookie management tool described above to control how cookies are set on your device.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes to the cookies we use, or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, ask you to renew your consent. We encourage you to revisit this page periodically.
